Up Edward William Mathais Silas John Harrison A. R.Nichols

MATHAIS NICHOLS
1795 - April 09, 1883

        Mathais Nichols was born in 1795.  He married Mary (Polly) Buhrman (Poorman) on October 30, 1819 in Washington County, Maryland.  The marriage license is on page 86 of the Marriage 1790-1860 Ledger in the Court House, Hagerstown, Washington County, Maryland.  

His family appears in the 1850 census, District #1 for Hagerstown, Maryland, Dwelling #2010:

*  The Death certificate of Cyrus Keefer was found in the Hall of Records in Annapolis, Maryland.  His father was given as John Kieffer of Franklin County, Pennsylvania and his mother as Ann Nichols, who was born at Buena Vista, Maryland.  Ann Nichols was probably the daughter of Mathais and Mary Nichols.  She was married about 1843...her oldest child, Mary, was 7 years old in 1850.
